Holly Poly 2023 Feedback & Input on 2024 Changes

Hi everyone!

As Holly Poly season approaches, we'd like to hear from you regarding a few things, including your thoughts on how the exchange ran last year.

Since we had multiple delays due to external factors, we're trying to get ahead this year and your feedback will help us solve issues people had on the participant side of things.

Please note: if you had any issues regarding a rejected gift, DNWs that were not honored, or lack of comment/kudos from your giftee, please email us at holly.poly.exchange@gmail.com.

Use this post to give us feedback on any of the following:

• Any constructive feedback in general on how it went last year
• Specific feedback on any tagset issues, for example, if you think fandom any splits/merges should be done differently in future
• What are your thoughts on the addition of new fanwork types last year? (New mediums were: fanmixes, gifsets and aesthetics/moodboards). Do you think it was a good addition to the exchange? Do you think the minimum requirements were too low or high?
• What are your thoughts on loading tags from last year’s tagset into this tagset determined via comments on a post/google forms/email to make nominations easier on the mods without importing fandoms that no one might request?
• Any comments on possible issues that might come up this year with any new fandoms? E.g. sequels or prequels with different continuity, video games vs their adaptations, etc.

I'd love it if you loaded last year's tagset into this one! It's useful in nominating and offering when there's already tags in the set, because it helps remind people of what's available versus what's missing. So I vote using the old tagset!

Last year did not work for me at all. Apparently I could not instantly be assigned to someone, and I was told someone wrote an email for me. However: I never got that email, making me unable to properly participate. And I checked the spam folder in my email account. There was no email. Nothing. It really made me sad.

I was almost undone by my own inertia but the timelines pretty much worked in the end. I also vote for using last year's tagset.
