Because I'm sending the reminder late, I am extending the deadline until later on in the day. Please consider where you are with your assignment and, if you don't think that you're going to be able to finish it by January 13th, make certain to default before the default deadline passes.

As a reminder, if you default prior to the default deadline, you may participate next year without any issues, so long as you have not defaulted two years in a row. If you default after the default deadline, there will be additional requirements depending on when exactly you default.

What that means is, if you think you won't be able to finish your story by the actual deadline of January 11, then you should go ahead and default.
