Hello, everyone! As Mouse posted earlier, I'm going to be taking over modding this exchange. I know it's a bit early, but there will be several changes being made this year so I wanted to give people time to give feedback prior to the exchange opening.
I'm still working on specifics, but these are the definite changes that will be made:
Deadlines will be set for 11:59pm Eastern Time on the day in question, mostly to make things easier for me as that is the timezone that I live in. I'll be posting countdowns for various deadlines to help prevent confusion when it comes to how much time is left.
For pinch hits, I will be switching that process over to a Google Group, with notifications posted on Dreamwidth when new pinch hits go out. They will be first come, first served, and any pending pinch hits will be posted publicly in the hopes of preventing them from lingering too long.
Gifts will be visible in the archive shortly after they are posted rather than waiting to the very end of the exchange to approve them for addition into it. (ETA: To clarify, works will still be anonymous until golive. You'll be able to see how many gifts have been posted in the archive, though, as well as for what fandoms. It will also make it easier for writers to find their own stories if edits/additions/etc. need to be made prior to the deadline.)
With large related fandoms, there will most likely be at least some changes with how they are grouped together. I will make a separate post with more specific information in the future, once we're closer to the nomination period, but the groupings will most likely be similar to how they are in FemslashEx for those of you who are familiar with that exchange. There will be some discussion, though, prior to any final decisions being made to make certain that whatever is decided works best for this exchange.
I'll be making some adjustments to the schedule compared to previous years, giving more time to review nominations for accuracy before sign-ups open and then shortening the sign-up period. More details will be posted shortly.
If anyone has opinions, recommendations, etc. regarding the exchange (especially regarding changes to how things have been run in the past that haven't already been mentioned), please leave a comment. I won't promise to go with every single suggestion that people leave, but if it's something that will make the exchange better or will help it run more smoothly, I'm definitely open to listening.
