Thank you for all of the feedback regarding how to combine and/or split up various megafandoms. For many of them, nothing is changing from last year. There are some minor changes/clarifications related to the various Power Rangers and Tolkien fandoms, and some details have been added when it comes to various fandoms based on DC Comics titles. Additional clarification has also been added for The Arrowverse (mostly based around certain major crossover events that are happening).

I'm aware than any decision won't make everyone happy, but I went with the ones that seemed to have the most support from participants based on comments and emails sent over the last few days.

Please nominate original works under Original Work for the fandom.

Please nominate crossovers under Crossover - Fandom for the fandom. List the characters with their fandom after the character name. For example: Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins)/Ms. Frizzle (Magic School Bus)/Thirteenth Doctor (Doctor Who), or F!Shepard (Mass Effect)/Garrus Vakarian (Mass Effect)/M!Hawke (Dragon Age), or Hal Jordan (Green Lantern 2011)/Ryan Reynolds (RPF)/Wade Wilson (Deadpool).

Please nominate all relationships involving characters from the MCU movies, Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Hulu Netflix series, and/or Netflix Marvel series under Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Please nominate all of the X-Men movies under X-Men (Original Timeline Movies), X-Men (Alternate Timeline Movies), and Deadpool (Movieverse). The Wolverine movies go in Original Timeline. Any relationships featuring characters from movies that fall under different categories should be nominated as a Crossover.

Please nominate Marvel comics under the universe they belong to: Marvel 616, Marvel Adventures, MC2, etc. If you feel the specific title they're from is complicated enough that it should be listed separately, please either leave a comment or send an e-mail with more information.

Please nominate standalone Marvel movies/TV shows such as Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes or X-Men Evolution separately under the name of the specific movie/show.

Please nominate DC films set in the current movie universe (Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aquaman, and Shazam!) under DC Extended Universe.

Please nominate relationships from various DC comics under DCU (Comics). If you feel the specific title they're from is complicated enough that it should be listed separately, please either leave a comment or send an e-mail with more information.

Please nominate the various DC shows on The CW (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman) under DC's Arrowverse. Relationships including characters from The Arrowverse as well as from other DC shows like Birds of Prey or Smallville who appear due to crossover events can be nominated under this umbrella fandom, while relationships solely from Birds of Prey, Smallville, and the like should be nominated separately under the name of the show they're from. Crossover relationships featuring characters from other DC shows who do not canonically appear in The Arrowverse, even if other characters from that show do, should still be nominated under Crossovers.

Please nominate the various cartoons considered part of the DCAU (Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond, Static Shock, The Zeta Project, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited) under DC Animated Universe (Timmverse).

Please nominate standalone DC movies/TV shows such as Birds of Prey, Gotham, and Smallville separately as individual fandoms.

Please nominate everything set in the Doctor Who universe under Doctor Who (including Big Finish Audios, Class, Sarah Jane Adventures, and Torchwood).

Please nominate Tolkien fandoms under Middle Earth – J.R.R. Tolkien or Middle Earth (Movies), depending on whether you want bookverse or movieverse. The Silmarillion would fall under the books. Any relationships featuring a mixture of movie and book canon (which would include anything set in the movies but with characters who aren't in them, such as Elladan, Elrohir, Glorfindel, etc.) should be nominated as a Crossover; please specific which characterization you want for any characters who are in both the books and the movies, ie. Aragorn (movies)/Elladan/Elrohir.

Please nominate the Star Trek TV shows under Star Trek: Classic Timeline and AOS under Star Trek: Alternate Original Series (Movies)‎. Any relationships featuring characters from both the original timeline and AOS (other than those who canonically are in both of them like Spock) should be nominated as a Crossover.

Please nominate Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, and Stargate Universe under Stargate - All Media Types.

Please separate anything related to the Power Rangers television shows under Power Rangers (TV), the comics under Power Rangers (Comics), and the recent(ish) movie under Power Rangers (2017).

Please note that while [Specific Character]/[Specific Group of Characters] is acceptable as a nomination, [Specific Character]/Everyone is too broad.

For example: Lex Luthor/Lionel Luthor's Board Members is acceptable because "Lionel Luthor's Board Members" involves a finite group of people. The same goes for Voldemort/Death Eaters, Shipwrecked Sailor/Mermaids, and Peter Pan/Lost Boys. While Carol Danvers/Anyone and Everyone is understandable, it's too broad because it could essentially involve an infinite number of people.

I would say that, if you want to nominate relationships involving various Disney Princesses, yes, nominate them under Disney - All Media Types. Relationships from specific Disney and/or Pixar movies can be nominated under the specific movie/movie series name.

Can a character that is not native to Marvel 616 but spends a lot of time in Marvel 616 be nominated under it?

Yes, characters like America Chavez who are originally from another universe but canonically spend a lot of time in 616 can be included as part of relationships requested under Marvel 616.

There's a particular comic storyline/set of ships that I want to nominate but what universe it is under is currently...complicated. It is the Black Panther: Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda storyline, which is Ta-Nehisi Coates's volume 7 of BP. This question will contain a lot of spoilers, sorry if that matters to you.

For most of the run/the first two trades, it's been set "2000 years in the future" and with characters who had the same names as classic BP characters (Nakia, M'Baku, etc), but who had very, very different backstories. But in the last couple issues, it's clear that at least a couple of the characters are in fact the same ones as Marvel 616. But definitely a couple of them aren't, or at least, I have no idea how they would be.

Even weirder, they just made contact with "Wakandan Prime" which seems to be in continuity with the rest of Marvel 616, but they are acting like it is happening at the same time as the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, because they are worried about that Empire possibly invading Earth-616. But that totally conflicts with the "2000 years in the future" framing the previous two trades talked about and also does not at all explain why there are people with the same names as Wakanda Prime characters wandering around, with totally different backstories and largely different personalities.

I'm interested in a couple ships with the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda versions of the characters--is there some way I can nominate it separate from Marvel 616, even though since the run is still happening, I currently have genuinely no clue what universe it is? Just like, if I request Nakia/M'Baku/T'Challa and mean the future versions, that would be very confusing for someone looking for Nakia/M'Baku/T'Challa from the main continuity.

Considering the circumstances (and, while I haven't been following this specific storyline, I'm aware that comics in general can sometimes be... complicated), I think that it would be fine to make any nominations for this under its own category. You can simply list Black Panther: Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda for the fandom.
