Nomination Clarifications #1

Nominations have only been open for twelve(ish) hours, and we already have 663 relationships in 129 fandoms nominated. I'm working on approving them as quickly as possible as they come in, but I do have some things like "work" and "sleep" and "D&D" that I have to deal with so things may slow down a bit later today.

That said, I already have a couple of questions for people.

Whoever nominated Hawke/Meredith Stannard/Orsino under Dragon Age - All Media Types, do you have a preference for gender when it comes to Hawke?

For The Magnus Archives (Podcast), just to clarify: are Helen | The Distortion and Helen Richardson separate characters? I'm familiar enough with TMA to know that there's some merging with other entities and such involved with those character(s), so I just wanted to clarify that they're different enough to be listed separately as there are several relationships nominated using both tags.

For Captive Prince - C. S. Pacat, the following nominations are too broad: Laurent/Nicaise/Others, Laurent/Others, and Nicaise/Others. If those are your nominations, please edit them to be a bit more specific than simply "Others."

Also, if someone who's more familiar than me with the various Final Fantasy games can take a look at the current nominations to make sure nothing needs to be combined/edited, I'd greatly appreciate it. It's one of the only big fandoms that I know almost nothing about, so some oddities usually slip through without me noticing.

Please note: If you notice that I've changed the order of the people in the relationship you've nominated from B/C/A to A/B/C or something along those lines, there's nothing wrong! It's simply a trick that I've picked up that helps with both floating tags and multiple iterations of the same 'ship ending up in the list twice in different orders. It just makes it easier on me as the mod. There's nothing wrong with your nomination or anything you need to change.

Would it be okay if I added both Female Hawke/Meredith Stannard/Orsino and Male Hawke/Meredith Stannard/Orsino to the tag set in that case? (I can add Nonbinary Hawke, Genderqueer Hawke, etc. as well, if you'd like anything other than the binary.)

As the person who nominated two otherwise identical ships with them, Helen | The Distortion and Helen Richardson are widely considered to be distinct from each other. There is a little overlap, but Helen Richardson is generally considered to be a fully human victim, and Helen | The Distortion is her once she's been merged with a malevolent ageless eldritch being, and therefore the tag use tends to be distinct depending on which you're talking about! Hopefully that clears it up and didn't make it more confusing.

The final fantasies are separate canons if they don't have the same number. So FFV is separate from FFVI, but FFX and FFX-2 are both in the same series. The messiest one is FF7, which has more extra games than the others. FF7 is usually put into the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII.

This includes Final Fantasy VII (1997), Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core (... and some other FFVII related things)

Final Fantasy VII Remake technically falls under the compilation (for spoilery reasons) but a lot of people in the exchange circuit like to separate them out. I'm fine either way on this one. I nominated it separately but I can work with it folded into the Compilation as well.

Thanks for the information! I'm fine with separating the remake out from the compilation as long as people more familiar with the games think that works best.

I mean, on the D&D front we're currently in the Abyss and a couple of games away from fighting Orcus, so I think I'd rather be approving noms when it all comes down to it. ;-)

So, uh... a self-correction: I just realized I spelled 'Melkhiresa' wrong in the Unavowed nominations... and they've been approved, so I can't change them.

Should'a double checked! Sorry for the trouble. ^^;
