Nomination Clarifications #4

We're currently up to 1974 relationships in 337 fandoms in the tag set. And it's time for more clarifications/questions:

First, please remember to nominate the Star Trek TV shows under Star Trek: Classic Timeline. There have been a number of relationships nominated under the name of the actual show(s) they're from rather than Star Trek: Classic Timeline over the past few days. I've either approved them under the correct fandom name if they were new or rejected them if they were already in the tag set under the correct fandom.

Now, onto the actual questions:

For Altered Carbon (TV), one of the nominations is Poe/Takeshi Kovacs/Takeshi Kovacs. Does there need to be some type of disambiguation added for Takeshi Kovacs? I know enough from fannish osmosis to be aware that the character's complicated, but I'm not familiar enough with the fandom to know whether it should be approved as is or if it needs more clarification.

If you're the one who nominated Greg Lestrade/John Watson/Sherlock Holmes and John Watson/Mycroft Holmes/Sherlock Holmes under Sherlock Holmes - Arthur Conan Doyle, I just wanted to confirm the fandom is correct and that you didn't intend to nominate those under Sherlock (TV). "Greg Lestrade" isn't typically the character tag used when referring to the original stories by ACD.

There are also still two outstanding issues:

If you're the person who nominated Emily Prentiss (Criminal Minds)/Olivia Benson (SVU) under crossover - Fandom, did you perhaps forget to list someone in the relationship? At least three people need to be involved for it to be approved for this exchange. If the relationship isn't edited to add a third person by the time nominations close, I will be rejecting it.

For Captive Prince - C. S. Pacat, the following nominations are too broad: Laurent/Nicaise/Others, Laurent/Others, and Nicaise/Others. If those are your nominations, please edit them to be a bit more specific than simply "Others." If the relationships aren't edited by the time nominations close, I will be rejecting them.

Please note: If you notice that I've changed the order of the people in the relationship you've nominated from B/C/A to A/B/C or something along those lines, there's nothing wrong! It's simply a trick that I've picked up that helps with both floating tags and multiple iterations of the same 'ship ending up in the list twice in different orders. It just makes it easier on me as the mod. There's nothing wrong with your nomination or anything you need to change.

LOL, and apparently I'm making all sorts of things difficult for settiai. I also nominated Lestrade/Watson/Sherlock Holmes and Watson/Mycroft Holmes/Sherlock Holmes, and I intended to nominate the ACD characters. Should I just nominate them again (I still have several slots in my nomination form)?

Altered Carbon nominator. The shortest way to explain it is that in the series, personhood (personality/memories) is stored as data, so a person can wear different bodies over the course of their lifetime. It's also possible for a person to be using more than one body at a time. Takeshi Kovacs wears different bodies over the course of the series, and also spends some time "double-sleeved" (in two different bodies). Let me know if more clarification would help.

I knew it was something along those lines. I mainly wasn't certain if there needed to be any specifications about which bodies are involved, for the purposes of people requesting and/or offering the relationship.

As it is right now, if someone other than you were to request and/or offer the relationship, would they be requesting/offering the exact same thing as you? Or could they possibly be requesting something different (ie, different bodies, etc.)?

I meant to let the writer pick which Kovacses to use. If someone else wanted specific Kovacses, I suppose they could nominate him that way? Or use the same nomination and clarify in their note which ones they wanted?

I've talked with a few people who are more familiar with the fandom than I am, and they've told me - for the purposes of people making offers - it would be better if it specified which specific bodies were involved. It would complicate things for me as the mod if someone requested it wanting A/B but someone else offered it expecting to create something featuring B/C.

Could you please either edit the nomination yourself or let me know what you'd like me to change it to? I'd be glad to add additional ones as well (ie, Poe/Takeshi Kovacs [Body A]/Takeshi Kovacs [Body B], Poe/Takeshi Kovacs [Body A]/Takeshi Kovacs [Body C], etc.) if you wanted more options.

It's not a canonical tag, so you have to manually enter it - it doesn't show up in the dropdown box. I'm approving nominations right now, so I'll edit it to be under the correct fandom once I get there.
