holly_poly | Co-mod?

Hi everyone! Here's your earlier-than-last-year heads up: Holly poly will definitely be happening this year, but I'm looking for a co-mod or assistant, primarily to help out with finding pinch hits and possibly with helping advertising the exchange, since I'm not nearly well-connected enough for either of those things to work much. I think someone expressed interest last year, but I can't find it in my email now. If you're interested in helping out with these aspects, please either comment or drop me an email (my dreamwith email is fine).

ETA: I am looking into the possibility of doing sign-up on the AO3. I'm not confident, due to the number of factors involved in matching, though. I'm still definitely going to need someone to help with pinch hit assignments, etc.

AO3's signups sheet cannot handle the complexity of this challenge. They don't have the ability to match on format for one. If I could do it on the AO3 instead of hand-matching, I would, but it literally will not work.

Format as in art, fic, etc.? Because yes you can match on that on AO3.

That would be so great. I'm always looking for a poly exchange, but I really only ship specific OT3s.

If you only ship specific OT3s, then all you have to do is only request or offer those three characters, and you won't have any problem.

The AO3 signup form cannot handle the complexity of this challenge. It doesn't have a field to handle media type, for one.

If you only want to create or accept a specific pairing, you can just put that as the only characters you want, and that's all that I'll be able to match you on.

Trust me, if I could skip the work of doing the entire thing by hand, I would!

By media type do you mean fic, art and so on? AO3 absolutely does that. All you need to do is allow a specific freeform for each type.

Just checking, but when you say the AO3 doesn't have the ability to match on format in your above comment, do you mean media type? Because, if so, they definitely have that ability.

femslashex has let you choose to request/offer fanfiction and/or fanart both last year and this year, and their signups run entirely on the AO3.

I don't know exactly how it's set up from the mod's standpoint, but it uses the Additional Tag section of the sign-up.

ETA: If you'd like, I could check with the mods of that exchange to see if I could get any information about setting it up to match on media type as well as fandoms/characters? I know that hand matching is a pain, so if it's possible through the AO3 that might make things easier for you in the long run.

Hmm... I think last time I tried that wasn't an option, or something. I remember that there was no way to do it, but that was two years ago.

I definitely would need someone to help me figure out that mess of a form, though, since I tried to set it up just now as a test, and I can't figure out if I'm setting up half of the fields correctly or if they're contradicting the other half because the info is so minimal.
